LADIS Case of the Month - July 2019

History:

  • 2-month old American Paint Horse colt
  • Was found the morning of presentation with trauma to the dorsal part of the orbit
  • RDVM reported a calvarial fracture based on radiographs
  • On presentation to Texas A&M
    • Soft tissue swelling dorsal to the right eye
    • Walked with a stiff gait and extended neck
    • Mild tachycardia, HR = 60 bpm
    • Normal cranial nerve
