LADIS Case of the Month - January 2015

History:

  • 7-year old Saddlebred gelding
  • Puncture wound on the left distal antebrachium discovered following long-distance shipping
  • Treated at home for one week
  • Referred to LSU after severe purulent drainage developed at puncture site

Physical Exam:

  • 4/5 lame
  • Marked decreased range of motion at left carpus
  • Marked swelling at left distal antebrachium/carpus with draining tract located at lateromedial aspect of distal antebrachium
