Signalment and History: 14 year old Thoroughbred gelding. One month history of reluctance to work and of stiffness that progressed to lameness and head tilt.
Physical Examination and Clinical Data: On presentation, patient bright and alert. Right head tilt. Cranial nerve examination otherwise normal. Mildly painful on head and neck manipulation. Patient reluctant to turn and reluctant to move, with proprioceptive defecits in all four limbs which are worse in the rear.
