2003 Image Interpretation Session - Case 3

Age: 3.5 years old

History: Luke presented with a two-year history regurgitation, retching, and weight loss. The referring veterinarian tentatively diagnosed him with congenital megaesophagus.

Physical examination findings included:

• Temperature = 104.2^oF
• Pulse = 96
• Respiratory rate = 32/min
• Hydration – normal
• Weight = 47.3 kg (thin)
• No murmurs or arrhythmias were ausculted.
• CBC, serum profile and urinalysis values were within normal reference range. Referral radiographs were unavailable for review.

• Thoracic radiographs
• Esophagram
