Requirements include a veterinary degree registrable with the South African Veterinary Council and Board certification or board eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Radiology or European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging. This is a full time appointment and salary and rank are commensurate with experience and qualifications.

There are separate ultrasound machines (Siemens and Aloka) in the large and small animal sections and X-ray equipment is of a high standard with new equine equipment just installed.  Small animal MRI is currently performed off-site. The modern spacious hospital is located on a beautiful campus on the outskirts of Pretoria.

Staff includes 3 technicians and 3 technical assistants, 1 academic radiographer and 4 radiology positions of which one will be vacant, two are filled by board certified radiologists and the last one is filled by a current 2nd year resident. We currently have one additional third year resident. The residency program is approved by the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging.

Duties include clinical exotic, small and large animal imaging service, instruction and supervision of veterinary students during their clinical rotation and resident training. You are required to carry your share of under- and postgraduate lectures. Research involvement is welcomed.  Minimal after hours work with duties shared amongst 5 staff members. Leave is generous as are other benefits.

Come and experience and enjoy Africa for a few years or forever!  We look forward to hearing from you.
