Description: The University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM) is seeking an assistant, associate or full professor in diagnostic imaging. UCVM is closely associated with the faculty of medicine, this will provide an exceptional opportunity to interact within a well established medical imaging research program. The Experimental Imaging Laboratory contains Canada’s first 9.4T MRI and an open configuration 0.2T MRI. The National Research Council’s Institute of Biodiagnostics-West is on site and has a research development facility in the University’s associated industrial park. There are also a 3T whole body MRI; a Siemens 1.5T cardiac scanner; and state of the art microCT systems. UCVM offers unique research opportunities through participation of its members in the University of Calgary Health Research Institutes. Successful applicants will be expected to establish an externally funded independent or collaborative research program.
UCVM is a fully accredited veterinary college. The program will provide a comprehensive general veterinary education, with the opportunity for enhanced educational opportunities in defined areas. A distributed veterinary teaching hospital model is used to deliver its clinical program (DVLC). The successful applicants will play a lead role in the development of the medical imaging portion of the curriculum, including clinical teaching in the DVLC.
Qualifications include a DVM degree, with advanced research training in diagnostic imaging/radiology. Board certification or eligibility is a necessary qualification. Appointments with clinical responsibilities require eligibility for licensure in the province of Alberta. The level of appointment and salary will be commensurate with experience.
