Description: Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for an internship in Diagnostic Imaging. The intern program is designed to provide didactic and clinical training that will assist in preparing the individual for a residency in veterinary diagnostic imaging. This program is located on the RUSVM campus on the island of St. Kitts, West Indies. The intern’s main focus will be training in all subspecialty areas of veterinary radiology: routine and special procedures in small and large animal diagnostic radiography, sonography, imaging interpretation in scintigraphy, computerized tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging, as well as training in radiation biology and protection. Training will also include limited rotations in internal medicine, pathology, surgery, anesthesia, general practice and emergency medicine.
Interns in the program will attend daily imaging rounds and weekly hospital rounds. Additionally, the program will provide the opportunity for some student teaching in both the classroom and laboratory environment.
Intern benefits include two weeks of vacation and one week of CE during the year. Benefits include a generous annual CE and book allowance, health and evacuation insurance. The position is two years in length and will start July 1, 2009.
Interns are expected to be highly motivated, committed, energetic individuals who desire to strengthen their education. Candidates with veterinary private practice experience or rotating internship in small animal medicine/surgery are encouraged to apply. The campus is located on a beautiful island in the Caribbean, minutes from the beach, other recreational areas, and cultural opportunities. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
Prerequisites: Graduate of a College of Veterinary Medicine with a demonstrated interest in diagnostic imaging.
