Description: Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital is seeking a dynamic Medical Director to help lead and direct InTown Veterinary Group’s newest referral hospital. Port City, a 15,000 sq ft emergency and referral hospital located just minutes from downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire, opened in September of 2008. Our rapidly growing hospital is fast paced with a continuing emphasis on improving medical quality and staff development. Our client focused culture has helped fuel our outstanding growth and will continue to do so.
The facility boasts a GE Xi high speed CT scanner, a plasma screen triage board, Moller-Wedel operating microscope, Bausch & Lomb phacoemulsification ,Eklin digital radiography, Agilent ultrasound machine, chemotherapy hood, Nova critical care analyzer, Dyonics arthroscopy equipment, a dedicated ICU with Snyder oxygen chamber, Olympus endoscopes, a Ferno underwater treadmill and three fully equipped surgery suites.
Our current staff includes three internists, two surgeons, an ophthalmologist, a radiologist, a part time cardiologist, a physical therapist, and six experienced emergency doctors. We will continue to add specialists and new services as the hospital’s growth dictates. Our specialists and ER doctors are supported by an amazing group of technicians, well trained client care coordinators and a proven management team.
The ideal candidate will be a board-certified specialist with a minimum of 5 years of post residency clinical experience. He or she must have demonstrated leadership ability, strong mentoring and team building skills, excellent communication skills and possess a foundation of business management. We are looking for an individual to build upon the strong client service foundation we have created and to continually advance the quality of medicine we provide. The position will include a balance of clinical time and management time.
