Description: Tenure or Clinical Track Position in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging
The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Louisiana State University is currently inviting applications for a tenure-track and clinical track faculty position in Diagnostic Imaging at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Requirements for the position include a DVM or equivalent and Board certification or board eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Radiology. We currently have three full time radiologists and are looking to complete our service with a fourth full-time individual.
The caseload at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital is diverse with small, large and exotic patients making up most of its cases. The hospital is set up with digital imaging and pacs system in both small and large animal. Fifty viewing workstations are located throughout the hospital for use with clients, in rounds or special procedures rooms. We also feature separate high-end ultrasound machines in both the large and small animal sections, a nuclear imaging suite with a gamma camera integrating to Mirage software and a brand new 16 slice GE Lightspeed CT scanner for both small and large animal imaging and a state of the art GE 3-D work station. Our newest addition is a brand new 1.5T Hitachi Echelon, 8-channel MRI unit with parallel and radial imaging on all coils for both small and large animals. Both our CT and MRI units are set up with custom equine imaging tables and access. In addition, our active oncology division performs radiation therapy in –house with an IMRT-capable linear accelerator.
Our team includes five experienced radiology technologists and 1 administrative assistant and three full time radiologists. Two of our technologists are dedicated to equine imaging.
