Diagnostic Imaging
Univ.-Prof. Dr. Sibylle KNEISSL

To a DipECVDI or DipACVR Vienna, August 21st, 2012

Faculty position for an experienced researcher, full-time

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced radiologist and offer a full-time position with an attractive financial package. We offer a diverse field of activity in a challenging environment within a dynamic multinational university.

Our Diagnostic Imaging staff is currently 14 persons, including 6 non-Boarded radiologists, two certified radiotechnicians, 3 technicians and 3 secretaries. Our equipment includes a 1.5T MR and a 16-slice CT unit. This year a modern fluoroscopy unit, including an anaesthesia induction and recovery room close-by, as well as two new sonography units were installed. The annual caseload is 10.000 patients, small animals mainly. Our image archive dates back to 1927. PACS was installed in 2008, making the entire archive retrievable, including CT from 1994 and MRI from 1997.

Applicants must hold a degree in veterinary medicine and should have completed a residency in veterinary diagnostic imaging (board eligible). The appointed candidate should have team skills as well as a strong personality. Reliability and willingness to share knowledge are expected. Their priority as Board-certified member of our team will be training radiologists for the diploma of the European Association of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging/American College of Veterinary Radiology examination. Fluent English is mandatory. Candidates, not speaking German, will not be underprevileged.

To motivate a potential candidate, I add five good reasons to work at Vetmeduni Vienna:

  1. Vetmeduni Vienna is a well organised institution situated on a 15 ha area in the north of Vienna, close to a side arm of the river Danube, where rowing, skating, cycling, running or other activities are possible.
  2. The next stop for public transportation system is a 5 min walk from the office door. However, if you prefer driving, a parking place is in front of the office´s door; and there is not a single step between your car and your working chair.
  3. You will be working in 20 m2 room with wooden floor and high speed internet.
  4. We have a well installed kitchen at the unit, so warm lunch is (theoretically) possible.
  5. We are a fair team distributing jobs, to be done, in a balanced manner. Decisions are transparent, published in a regular newsflash.

If you are interested, please do not hesitate to apply for this position by sending a letter for application and your curriculum vitae to bewerbungen@vetmeduni.ac.at, ID 2012/0826.

We will close the call for this position by September 9th, 2012. Feel free to contact me, if further questions arise!

Sincerely,

Sibylle Kneissl
