The Department of Small Animals, Vetsuisse-Faculty University of Zurich, Switzerland, invites applications for a position in Medical Oncology at the „Oberarzt“-level (the appointment will be at the level of "Oberarzt," which corresponds a senior clinician level. The position will be part of a dynamic team of the division of Radiation Oncology and will be available as of beginning of 2015, or as agreed upon.

Responsibilities will include clinical service, teaching of oncology to students, interns and residents; development of a basic science or clinical research project within the group and participation in continuing education at the local and national level. An academic career will be supported if desired by the candidate.

Candidates must have strong communication skills, the desire to work collaboratively with the referring veterinary community, and a willingness to teach and mentor. Specialty board certification or board eligibility (ECVIM-oncology or ACVIM-Oncology) is mandatory.

The Small Animal Clinic of the Vetsuisse-Faculty University of Zurich is a state-of-the-art referral clinic, with a 24-hour emergency service and specialty appointments (board certified specialists) in all disciplines. The Oncology Suite includes three consultation rooms, a multipurpose treatment area and chemotherapy administration area as well as linac facilities. Radiation oncology is equipped with a high-end linear accelerator. Radiology services include digital radiography, ultrasonography, computerized tomography, MRI. Clinical services are supported by paraclinical services (pathology, virology, parasitology, bacteriology, etc.). The candidate also will have the opportunity to collaborate with an active group of basic oncology researchers at the Faculty.
