The University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Sydney (UVTHS) and The University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Camden (UVTHC) have both undergone significant equipment upgrade and have state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment that makes it one of the best equipped small and large animal hospitals in Australia. The Hospitals contain, 7th generation 16 slice CT, X-ray machines, digital (CR) radiography, ultrasound, scintigraphy, videoendoscopy and 2 low-field MRI machines all linked together with PACS and also connected to the Sydney campus.

We are seeking applications for a Specialist in Diagnostic Imaging to join a team of clinicians specialising in large and small animals. You will provide diagnostic imaging services and teach clinical services in the veterinary undergraduate program.

To be successful in this role you will posses:

  • a degree in veterinary science registrable in NSW and Diplomate ECVDI or Diplomate ACVR permitting registration with the NSW Veterinary Surgeons Board as a Specialist in Surgery
  • a preparedness to assist in development and implementation of UVTHS, UVTHC and Diagnostic Imaging Unit Strategic Plans
  • experience in interpreting conventional radiographs, CT, MRI images, performing outpatient ultrasounds and specialised imaging procedures for other specialists
  • experience in postgraduate and undergraduate teaching.

Veterinarians who are Board-eligible for ECVDI and ACVR are also encouraged to apply.

Working alongside specialists renowned for their work in veterinary sciences you will join a highly specialised imaging environment and have access to state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. The person will be supported by a team of professionals headed up by Dr Mariano Makara and supported by residents and radiographers with advanced skills.

Remuneration package: An attractive remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
