The University of Missouri Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery invites applications for a faculty position in radiology (tenure or teaching track - assistant, associate or full professor). The faculty member will join an energetic, collegial imaging program in operation of busy small/large animal diagnostic radiology service in a modern veterinary medical teaching hospital. Out-of-Hospital imaging services will also be a part of this job description. The Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital currently provides imaging studies that utilize radiography, computed tomography, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, scintigraphy, and positron emission tomography. The description of this full time appointment depends on the qualifications of the successful applicant.
An individual in the tenure-track will be expected to develop a successful research program that compliments research performed by other departmental, college, or university faculty. They will also actively participate in clinical and teaching responsibilities of the radiology section. Section or departmental service may also be a part of the position description.
An individual in a nontenure-track position will concentrate his/her activities in the areas of clinical service and teaching. Scholarly activity is also expected and may include collaborative research activities with other faculty, as is participation in the training of graduate students and house officers. Section or departmental administrative service may also be a part of the position description.
Qualifications - Candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree; successful completion of a residency in veterinary diagnostic radiology and eligibility for specialty board certification (ACVR or ECVDI); and eligibility for professional licensure (faculty license or regular license) as a veterinarian in the State of Missouri.
Selection Criteria - Candidates will be assessed based upon educational and professional achievement. Research experience, communication skills, organizational skills, experience working effectively in diverse environments and letters of reference will all be considered.
