NorthStar VETS – Staff Radiologist Position in the Diagnostic Imaging Dept.
The department of Diagnostic Imaging at NorthStar VETS invites applications from radiologists for one position. Candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree and must maintain licensure to practice veterinary medicine in New Jersey. Board certification in Veterinary Radiology (ACVR or ECVDI) is desirable however candidates who have recently completed an approved residency and are board- eligible in Veterinary Radiology (Post-Trainees) are encouraged to apply.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a large, talented, team-oriented group of specialists in this year’s AAHA Accredited Referral Hospital of the Year. NorthStar VETS supports 17 specialties, 24 specialists, 10 emergency doctors, and a highly skilled team of technicians and support staff. The most important attributes sought for in a candidate include strong interpersonal skills, and a desire to work closely with the large referring community of veterinarians who entrust the care of their patients to this hospital.
The successful candidate will join Dr. Matthew Gutman and 3 skilled imaging technicians. Imaging equipment includes two Sound DR rooms, digital fluoroscopy, a new Toshiba Aquilion 4-slice helical CT scanner, 1.5T GE MR, a new Toshiba Aplio 300, and a brand new, portable Toshiba Viamo. All imaging equipment is in-house. A complete reading room designed exclusively for the radiologist has a central location in the hospital and contains 2, linked Dell Ultrasharp monitors mated to a Dell Precision tower, as well as one, 27” Mac LED Cinema Display mated to a MacPro Server resulting in a fluid OsiriX workstation.
NorthStar VETS is conveniently located in central New Jersey, 40 minutes from Philadelphia, 30 minutes from the shore, and New York City is a 1-hour train ride away. The surrounding communities offer nationally ranked public school systems, horseback riding, and diverse dining and cultural experiences.
