The Department of Clinical Studies, Ontario Veterinary College (OVC), is seeking applications to fill a 12 month Contractually Limited faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Diagnostic Imaging.
Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent degree, must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice in the Province of Ontario. Preference will be given to individuals who are Diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Radiology or European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging; however, applications from candidates who are eligible for the ACVR or ECVDI certification examination will be considered.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in clinical diagnostic imaging including echocardiography and outstanding teaching, interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere is essential.
Approximately 80% effort will be dedicated to clinical service activities in the OVC Health Sciences Center, which include providing diagnostic imaging case management and case-based teaching in both the companion and large animal clinics. The successful candidate will participate in out-of-hours emergency duty equitable with other members of the section. The remaining effort is to be spent on scholarly activity, didactic and laboratory teaching.
The OVC HSC offers state of the art diagnostic equipment including but not limited to a 1.5 Tesla high field General Electric MRI, CT, digital radiology and fluoroscopy, PACS system, ultrasonography, and scintigraphy.
