The Institute of Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand invites applications for a locum in veterinary diagnostic imaging. This is a perfect opportunity to explore beautiful New Zealand and enjoy the best the outdoors has to offer in a friendly environment. The position is available from 31 March 2014 - 31 October 2014. Consideration would be given to applicants who are only available for a part of this time.

The VTH sustains a moderate but varied caseload and though demanding, is not overwhelming. The Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) is equipped with Eklin digital radiography, a Philips ultrasound machine and a Philips 16 slice helical CT scanner equipped with a table for imaging equine skulls and limbs. MRI is available locally.

We have a team of two radiologists, two residents and three medical radiation technologists.

You will be primarily involved with:

  • Teaching diagnostic imaging to veterinary and veterinary technology students, interns and residents
  • Contributing to the clinical diagnostic imaging service.

You must hold a veterinary degree which can be registered with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand and you must be eligible to register as a specialist in diagnostic imaging in New Zealand (American or European Boards of Fellowship of the Australia New Zealand College).
