Veterinary Radiation Oncologist

The Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center (VSEC) is looking for a full-time staff Radiation Oncologist for our main hospital location in Levittown Pennsylvania. The center has been existence since 1994 and moved into its current 21,000 SF State-of-the-Art main hospital, “VSEC Levittown”, in June 2011. “VSEC Philadelphia” our 7000 SF sister hospital, will open February 2013. In addition to a Varian 2300 CD Linear Accelerator, the Levittown hospital is equipped with an in-house laboratory, CT, MRI, I-131, dedicated Intensive Care Unit and has well-designed work spaces, operating rooms and endoscopy suites. VSEC Philadelphia will have two surgical suites, a procedure room for ultrasound and endoscopy, treatment room, ICU and wards. Both hospitals function on a 24/7/365 basis.

VSEC has specialists in surgery (5 surgeons and 4 residents), internal medicine (3 internists and 2 residents), critical care (4 criticalists and 2 critical care interns), medical oncology (1), cardiology (1), diagnostic imaging (3), neurology and neurosurgery (1), ophthalmology (1), acupuncture (1) and emergency clinicians (8) supported by a large staff of veterinary technicians and other administrative support personnel. The new staff Radiation Oncologist will be stationed primarily at the VSEC Levittown hospital. The successful candidate is expected to be competent in all facets radiation oncology and treatment planning (3D and manual). The Radiation Oncologist will accept internal and external referrals and is expected to provide excellent patient care, training of veterinary technicians, written and verbal communication to all referring clinicians and continuing education lectures and presentations. Board certification is preferred however candidates with completion of a radiation oncology residency and who are board-eligible will be considered.
