How is the ACVR web site organized?
The menubar at the top of the page allows you to navigate to major sections of the web site. The sidebar menus are used to navigate within sections and subsections. The 'Site Map' will help you find the right section or subsection.
How do I find documents that I need to download?
Many documents are located in either the public Downloads Section or the private Members Only Downloads Section (Password Required). If not, you will see a link to their location. The Proceedings, Film Reading Sessions and Pictures from previous meetings are located on the Previous Meetings page, reachable from the Meetings page in the Activities section. Lecture presentations from previous meetings are located in the Members Only Resident Section (Password Required).
How do I retrieve a forgotten password?
Search for your record in the Public Directory. Click on your name to go to the detail page to reveal your information. Choose 'Send My Password' at the top of your record. Your password for the Private Directory, Members Only, and Society sections will be sent to your official ACVR email address. To get a password reminder for an ACVR Mailing List (Note: Mailing List passwords are not the same as your official ACVR ID and Password), use this link to the web-based administrative console; a link is also provided at the bottom of every ACVR mailing. At the administrative console, click on the mailing list for which you want a password reminder. You will see instructions for having your mailing list password sent to you at the bottom of the subsequent page.
How do I change my password?
Members can change their password after login to the Private Directory. When you first login to the Private Directory, you will see an option to change your password in the Main Menu. Once in the Directory, you can return to the Main Menu by clicking the 'Main Menu' link at the bottom of any Directory page. You can also search for your record in the Directory and choose 'Change Password' at the top of your record. To change your password for an ACVR Mailing List (Note: Mailing List passwords are not the same as your official ACVR ID and Password), use this link to the web-based administrative console; a link is also provided at the bottom of every ACVR mailing. At the administrative console, click on the mailing list for which you want a password reminder. You will see instructions for changing your subscription options (including changing your password) at the bottom of the subsequent page.
How do I avoid entering my password multiple times?
You only need to enter your password once as you enter the Members Only section. If authorized, you should then have access to the Resident, Diplomate and Council sections without entering your password again. Use the 'Remember Password' feature of your browser to facilitate entry on your next visit. You can also bookmark a page where you want direct access within the Members Only Section or Resident Section. The next time you visit, choose the appropriate bookmark. However, you must enter the Members Only section first to avoid having to enter your password again for the Resident, Diplomate and Council sections. If you've used the 'Remember Password' feature of your browser, it will facilitate entry. Access to a Society section requires that you enter your password again, but using the 'Remember Password' feature will speed entry the next time you visit. This may not work for the Private Directory. You may need to enter your password each time you enter. However, many browsers will fill in the ID/Password form if you've previously used the 'Remember Password' feature.
My password is correct. Why am I repeatedly refused?
Sometimes during access to private sections of the web site, you will be refused entry repeatedly even though your password is correct. You may have initially entered a typo for your ACVR ID and Password. Subsequent correct tries still do not allow entry. The solution is to quit and restart your browser and carefully re-enter your ID and Password. If you use the 'Remember Password' feature of your browser during entry, you can keep these typos to a minimum.
How do I update my ACVR Directory contact information?
It is important to keep your Directory contact information updated since your address is used for Journal mailings and your email address is used for ACVR Mailing List messages. The ACVR requires you to choose a single address for all ACVR correspondence, your Journal subscription, and the ACVR Directory. You can let us update your contact information for you by using the Contact Us email form. Just send us your updated contact information and we will do the rest. Members can also update their contact information online after login to the Private Directory. You will see an option to update your information in the Main Menu immediately after login. Once in the Directory, you can return to the Main Menu by clicking the 'Main Menu' link at the bottom of any Directory page. As another option, you can search the Directory for your record and choose the 'Update Information' link at the top of your record. Important: If you change your email address in the ACVR Directory, you will also need to update your e-mail address for the ACVR Mailing Lists using this link to the web-based administrative console; a link is also provided at the bottom of every ACVR mailing. You will need to know your Mailing List password, which is not the same as your ACVR ID and Password. If necessary, see previous FAQ 'How do I retrieve a forgotten password?'. Choose any list to which you belong to change your email address. The administrative console then allows you to globally apply the email address change to all ACVR mailing lists to which you belong.
