A reminder that the 2012 ACVR Annual meeting will take place October 18-21, 2012 at the M Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. This will be a joint meeting with the Veterinary Cancer Society, so a number of things will be different from our regular meetings.
Mark the meeting dates on your calendar and note that the meeting runs Thursday through Sunday this year. This is done so we can coincide with the VCS meeting on the same days. Keep a watch in the newsletter and the ACVR web site for more information about the meeting.
This will be a very large meeting, so when the time comes, you will want to get your room bookings and registration as soon as possible.
The 'Call for Abstracts' will occur in April and the deadline for abstract submission will be in June. Online meeting registration and hotel reservations will also be available in June. Exact dates have not yet been determined.
An interventional radiology wet lab, sponsored by Infiniti Medical, is planned for Wednesday Oct. 17th, from 8am - 4 pm.
The Forum will take place on Thursday, Oct. 18th. This year's Forum topic will be "Molecular and Functional Imaging", and the moderator will be Dr. Federica Morandi.
We'll have a joint keynote speaker, Dr. Landis K. Griffeth, MD, PhD. Director of Nuclear Medicine, Baylor University Medical Center. Dr. Griffeth will speak on Friday morning, Oct. 19th. His area of expertise is PET/CT.
Poster Presentations are planned for the evening of Friday, Oct. 19th, as well as a joint reception with VCS.
The Image Interpretation Session, moderated by Dr. Randi Drees, will occur on Saturday afternoon Oct. 20th.
The ACVR Business Meeting is also planned for Saturday afternoon, Oct. 20th.
The Society Presidents are still working on keynote speakers for their particular sessions, although the Large Animal Diagnostic Imaging Society has chosen not to have a keynote speaker this year.
