In Figure 2, the aorta can be seen extending from the left ventricle (LV) allowing identification of the left atrium (LA), left ventricle (LV), mitral valve (MV) and aortic valve (AV). There is obvious thickening and irregularity of the aortic valve. Close observation shows that the tip of one mitral valve leaflet is also thickened.
